Cellar Read-Only Status
When you start The Uncorked Cellar, your web cellar may be marked "Read-Only" if the program is unable to connect to our web cellar server
This may be due to...
-
The Server itself being offline
-
Not currently logged into your web cellar account
- Use the menu command "Cellar, Web Cellar" to log in to your web cellar account
-
Something EXTERNAL to the app blocking internet access to The Uncorked Cellar
-
Common causes ( and solutions ) are
- A pending operating system update - check and apply all available updates
- Computer and router needing a reboot or reset - reboot both your Computer and router
- Your Anti-Virus blocking the app from accessing the internet - see www.uncork.biz/faq_internet_problems.aspx
-
ISP Blocking access to uncork.biz - check with your ISP to ensure they are not blocking access to the following websites
- www.uncork.biz
One customer's experience in solving the problem of their ISP blocking may be helpful.
My internet service is provided by Bell Canada. The router is called a “Giga Hub” and is connected to Bell’s network by fibre optic cable.
Users with this problem should access information about their router using Bell’s WiFi app (mine is on my cellphone),
When that app is open, there is a tab/option called “Guard” that lists data that has been blocked.
This is where I discovered that data from “uncork.biz” was considered malware and being blocked.
Once I authorized access, the Uncork app immediately began to function properly.
